A devout Catholic who believed his prayers were answered when he was rescued from an elevator was killed when he went to church to give thanks and the stone altar fell on him. Forty-five-year-old Gunther Link was so relieved to have been freed from the elevator that he rushed straight to the Weinhaus Church in Vienna to thank God. There, he warmly embrace a stone pillar but his action caused the 860-pound altar to collapse and it landed on him, killing him instantly. He was found the next day by parishioners attending mass.

Tales From the Vault: Woman Sat On Toilet For a Month
Tales From the Vault: Woman Sat On Toilet For a Month
A woman spent at least a month sitting on her boyfriends toilet - so that by the time h finally contacted police she was stuck to the seat. Although Koty McFarren told investigators that he regularly took her food and water and had begged her every day to come out of the bathroom, 35 year-old Pam Babcock from Ness County, Kansas, apparently refused to move. Sheriff Bryan Whipple said it appeared that the woman's skin had grown around the seat. "We prised the toilet seat off with a bar and the seat went with her to hospital. The hospital removed it. She was not glued. She was not tied. She was just physically stuck by her body. It is hard to imagine."
