When 18 year-old David Zurfluh of Stettler, Canada, was stopped by police for erratic driving, he chose an ingenious way of trying to beat the breathalyser test - he started eating his own underwear. Sitting in the back of the patrol car he suddenly ripped the crotch out of his shorts and stuffed the fabric in his mouth before spitting it out in disgust. He had hoped that the cotton fabric would absorb the alcohol before he took the test.
