Tales From the Vault - Man Dies Trying to Retrieve Toy From Lion Enclosure
When his child accidentally dropped a toy into the lion enclosure at Московский зоопарк/Moscow Zoo in 2001, Anton Briesov sprang into action. Fetching a ladder, he boldly climbed down into the enclosure, hoping that the lions wouldn't notice. Alas his escape route was cut off when the ladder toppled over. Briesov managed to outrun the lions and climb to safety, only to drown in the moat surrounding the enclosure.
